Gable Steveson’s amazing performance at the Tokyo Olympics last year made him a huge name in the world of professional sports. Since then, he became one of the most in-demand athletes in the world and was not hard to see why. WWE pitched an interesting match for Gable Steveson as well.

After a lot of teases and speculation, WWE managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract last year. He was already drafted to Monday Night RAW as part of the WWE Draft last year.

As previously reported, Bobby Lashley is currently expected to be Omos’ opponent at WrestleMania 38. However, that might change if he isn’t able to compete in the event. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE pitched Gable Steveson to squash Omos at WrestleMania 38 in order to set up his debut.

”You don’t know how many people, including those in the company, have suggested or talked about having Steveson debut at Mania and just slam and pin Omos in 20 seconds to get his career going. But that is not the current plan.”

Gable Steveson also recently addressed the difficulties of keeping his real name in WWE. Ric Flair also thinks WWE should focus on training Gable Steveson for the first year in WWE. We’ll have to see whether Steveson will end up debuting at WrestleMania 38 or not.
