WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin‘s importance to the pro wrestling world is definitely incomparable. Austin instantly makes any show or segment he is a part of all the more exciting as well. It seems Austin and Kevin Owens’ segment might not be closing WrestleMania 38 after all.

Steve Austin eventually answered Kevin Owens’ challenge for an appearance WrestleMania 38 on the Kevin Owens Show. It was then rumored that the Steve Austin and Kevin Owens segment is set to main event WrestleMania 38 Night 1 as well.

This booking decision led to a lot of criticism as well as many felt more deserving stars should have been closing out the show. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Steve Austin and Kevin Owens segment might be changed at the last moment and may not close Night 1 of WrestleMania 38.

There were reports this week that the Austin/Owens segment would end the show. According to those in WWE, as of midweek, Flair vs. Rousey was scheduled to close the show but it was also noted that match order changes frequently and will continue to change until the day of the show. The only thing locked from the start has been Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar closing the Sunday show.
