Eddie Kingston made his AEW debut back in July of 2020, where he competed against Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship during his open challenge. While he was unsuccessful in the match, Kingston impressed many and signed with the company. Kingston hit back at fans recently as well.
Kingston quickly cemented himself as one of the best talkers in AEW as his promos are known to be from the heart and very natural. He is also very passionate when it comes to the pro wrestling world.
Last year, Eddie Kingston cut a scathing promo from the heart, taking multiple shots at WWE in the process. This was appreciated by many fans and pro wrestlers alike but also had many haters.
While speaking with Freddie Prinze Jr. on Wrestling With Freddie, Eddie Kingston talked about the fan backlash he received for all his shots at WWE. Kingston made it clear he loves making fans mad whenever he mentions WWE.
“Side note, I love how mad people get when I mention anything in WWE. I love it. Oh God, when I say ‘sports entertainer,’ they are like, ‘F you, I hope you die,’ and I’m sitting there laughing, because I’m like, c’mon, I got you. I have friends at WWE, do you think I want that place to shut down? Absolutely not! I want my friends to eat. I just do things to stir it up
Eddie Kingston remains one of the highlights of AEW television who will always cut promos from the heart and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
