AEW Dynamite Results for March 23, 2022

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means. AEW Dynamite will go down tonight and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage.

JR welcomes us to the show and then Cult of Personality hits! CM Punk makes his entrance to a huge reaction. FTR are out next and Dax Harwood makes his entrance alone.

CM Punk vs. Dax Harwood

Huge “CM Punk” chants, lock up, break in the corner. Punk with an arm drag, Harwood escapes. Harwood gets a headlock, shoulder block, Punk with armdrags, into an armbar. Gunn Club are watching from the crowd, Harwood with a back elbow, chop, uppercut, Punk hits a bodyslam, Harwood with a headlock takeover, Punk gets the arm bar. Harwood with a running knee strike, suplex, leg drop, cover, 1 count.

Harwood hits a backbreaker, cover, Punk escapes, Harwood with a headlock. Harwood hits a backdrop. Harwood with chops in the corner, Gunn Club shout at him from the front row. Punk with chops, Harwood hits a back elbow. Harwood misses a diving headbutt. Strikes back and forth, Punk hits a leg lariat ,cover, 2 count.

Punk hits a standing legdrop. Punk climbs to the top, Harwood cuts him off, chops, Punk throws him off the top rope, Punk goes for an elbow but Harwood cuts him off again. Harwood hits a Superplex! Harwood climbs to the top and hits a diving headbutt, cover, 2 count. Punk suplexes Harwood out of the ring but Dax hangs on and both men crash to the outside. Back in the ring, Punk hits a diving crossbody, cover, 2 count. Punk transitions into the Anaconda Vice! Harwood escapes but Punk kicks him off, Inside Cradles back and forth, 2 count!

Punk with the rising knee strike, Harwood counters and hits a Slingshot Powerbomb, cover, 2 count. “This is Awesome” chants, Punk with a kick to the face, rising knee strike, Harwood blocks the GTS and locks in a Sharpshooter! Punk rolls over and transitions into the Anaconda Vice! Harwood taps out!

While celebrating, CM Punk gestures for a title around his waist…

The Jericho Appreciation Society are backstage, Jericho talks about Silver meeting his idol Chris Jericho as a fan. Silver isn’t on his level and it wont be pretty. Garcia says we beat up pro wrestlers. They will future endeavour Jon Silver. This is the Jericho Appreciation Society and that’s entertainment!

Sting’s music hits and he makes his entrance for this 8 man tornado tag! Darby Allin is out next, followed by the Hardys! Andrade leads out Private Party and the Butcher and The Blade.

8 Man Tornado Tag Team Match: Sting, Darby Allin & The Hardys vs. Private Party, The Butcher & The Blade

Darby with a dive onto all men, Sting dives onto everybody else, Darby throws Butcher into the stairs. Matt Hardy and Kassidy brawl up the ramp, then down into ringside. Blade and Jeff Hardy brawl into the crowd. Sting hits a Stinger Splash on the barricade. Matt slams Quen at ringside. Butcher and Blade double team attack Darby up into the crowd.

In the ring, Matt Hardy with strikes to Quen. Andrade attacks Darby in the crowd. Butcher powerbombs Darby Allin down the steps and Darby crashes down the steps.

Matt HArdy and Kassidy fight on the stage, Matt goes for a Side Affect off the stage but Quen hits a low blow! Private Party hits a double Side Affect off the stage! Jeff Hardy and Sting set Butcher up on a table, Jeff sets up a ladder! Sting and Darby Allin hold Butcher and Blade down, Jeff climbs the ladder, he climbs higher onto the wall then hits a Swanton Bomb onto Butcher and Blade!

Private Party drag Matt into the ring, Sting runs down to make the save, Quen covers, Matt kicks out at 2! Sting fights off Private Party. Kassidy hits Sting with a chair but he no sells it and beats up both Private Party, Stinger Splashes to both men. Quen dodges a third Stinger Splash, Sting counters a Gun and Juice into a Scorpion Death Drop (after a botch or two). Matt hits a twist of fate, cover, 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: Sting, Darby Allin & The Hardys!

Tony Schiavone is backstage with FTR, Wheeler says Dax wrestled from the heart tonight. Cash says Gunn Club don’t have their respect. Dax says they are not spoilt brats unlike Gunn Club, they are the best tag team on this planet. They’ll see them next week on Dynamite.

Commercial Break.

Bryan Danielson makes his entrance, accompanied by William Regal. Varsity Blonds are already in the ring as Jon Moxley makes his entrance through the crowd. Regal joins commentary.

Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson vs. Varsity Blonds

Danielson and Moxley attack first, Moxley and Garrison brawl to the outside, Julia Hart is at ringside, with her back to the match. Danielson with kicks in the corner. Moxley with kicks to Pillman, shops, Pillman hits a dropkick. Tag to Garrison, Garrison with a splash in the corner, Moxley hits a German, tag to Danielson. Danielson with a kick to the chest.

Moxley and Danielson hit a Lariat/German. Garrison throws Danielson out of the ring. Moxley with chops, Garrison with strikes back, Moxley with a big right hand. Varsity Blonds hits double team dropkick/spinebuster, cover, 2 count. Danielson hits the Busaiku Knee, Moxley hits the Paradigm Shift! Danielson and Moxley hits stomps/elbow strikes, they both lock in their submission and Varsity Blonds tap out!

WINNER: Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley!

Regal gets in the ring and congratulates Moxley and Danielson. Moxley gets a mic and says he is a lucky man, he has completed against the best in the world, he has learned from the best. The only opinions he cares about is William Regals. He earned Regal’s seal of approval and he wears it with pride. Moxley calls Danielson the perfect wrestler, they were forged in combat. For anybody who thinks they have what it takes to stand beside them, you need to love pain, if you want a badge of honour there is only one way to get it, the hard way!

Commercial Break.

MJF makes his entrance accompanied by Shawn Spears. Security is gathers at ringside, MJF insults the Texas crowd and tells them to pipe down. Wardlow, it is a shame you couldn’t get the job done last week. MJF says he is a man of his word, he meant that Wardlow could have kept the TNT title. He would like to talk to CM Punk, everybody knows he had Punk beat at Revolution. Punk cheated to win, there will be another match and when there is it will be Punks most embarrassing loss of his career. It wont be over until he attends Punks funeral and pisses on his grave.

MJF says Wardlow is a pig, “Wardlow” chants, if it wasn’t for MJF nobody would know who he was. Wardlow cost him the most important match of his life. Wardlow signed a deal with the devil ands that deal is iron clad. He will make Wardlow life a living hell. MJF threatens Wardlow mother, he says he owns Wardlow.

Wardlow furiously walks down the ramp and takes out the security, security restrain Wardlow, MJF says he works for MJF and MJF doesn’t want him anymore. MJF will pay Wardlow to stay home until everybody forgets he ever existed. Security escort Wardlow to the back.

MJF says the Pinnacle has never been better. Spears says when your in the Pinnacle, you are always on top.

Tony Schiavone is with Best Friends, Trent says he never liked Yuta. he is done with him. Yuta says he loved the Best Friends but he never liked Trent. Yuta says he doesn’t want to be the best friend, he wants to be the best wrestler.

Adam Cole makes his entrance. Jay Lethal is out next.

Adam Cole vs. Jay Lethal

Lock up, break in the corner, Cole with strikes in the corner. Lethal with chops, jabs, elbow, Cole with strikes of his own. Lethal with a hip toss into a dropkick, cover, 1 count. Cole with a enziguri, Lethal hits a flatliner, Lethal misses a springboard dropkick, then hits a dropkick to Cole. Lethal hits a Tope Suicida, then another Tope Suicida, then goes for a third but Cole moves out of the way. Lethal hits a dive onto Cole on the other side of the ring. reDRagon are watching from the ramp.

Lethal goes for a Figure 4, Cole counters into a cover, 2 count, Lethal with a jack knife pin, 1 count and gets the Figure 4! Cole gets to the ropes, Lethal pulls him back in, Cole with a rollup, 2 count. Cole hits a superkick, lowers the kneepad but Lethal hits a cutter! Cole hits a superkick, then hits the Panama Sunrise, cover, 2 count. Lethal ducks under the Boom, Lethal gets a rollup, reDRagon distracts the ref, Cole hits a low blow, then hits the Boom, cover, 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: Adam Cole!

Cole gets a mic and says he deserves the AEW World Title. He has won 2 of the last 3 matches with Page. Page caught lightning in a battle at Revolution and he will shove that bottle up Pages ass. He is a winner, Page is a coward, he doesn’t have the guts to come out here…

Pages music hits… Page enters the ring with Cole and reDRagon. Page whips all 3 men with his leather belt. Cole hits a low blow then Cole and reDRagon beat him down. Cole picks up the AEW World Title then Jurassic Express and Christian Cage run down to make the save. Cole leaves with the AEW World Title.

Tony Schiavone is with Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti in the ring. Sammy says he lost the TNT Title, but he still had this ring and he promises to give you a show like never before. He knows he cant do this style forever, if he’s gonna pay for it later then it will be worth it. Conti says they want payback. Paige will get her ass kick just like her whole career. Sammy says they want the match right now.

Dan Lambert says they have Ethan Page, himself, Paige VanZant who is not here tonight. They also have the Champ, Scorpio Sky who hasn’t lost a match since Tony Khan went through puberty. You guys can kiss that match goodbye then Lambert kisses the TNT Championship. Sammy suggests Lambert shouldn’t be kissing the TNT title after what he and Conti did on it…

Leyla Hirsch makes her entrance. Kris Statlander is barred from ringside. Red Velvet is out next. Hirsch attacks Velvet as she makes her entrance. Hirsch beats down Velvet at ringside. Velvet whips Hirsch into the barricade, then again into the opposite barricade, then one more time into the barricade. Velvet dives off the steel steps into a hurricanrana. Back in the ring, the bell finally rings.

Red Velvet vs. “Legit” Leyla Hirsch

Velvet with stomps in the corner, standing moonsault, Hirsch reverses into a gutwrench suplex. Hirsch covers, 1 count.

Velvet with a clothesline, another clothesline, arm drag, double knees in the ropes. Velvet with a spin kick, Hirsch hits a German, cover, 2 count. Velvet hits the Iconoclasm, cover, 2 count. Velvet hits a corkscrew kick, Hirsch rolls out to the apron. Hirsch drops Velvet on the ropes.

Hirsch gets a turnbuckle from under the ring, the ref takes it away, Hirsch had another turnbuckle in her trunks, she strikes Velvets, gets the cover, 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: Leyla Hirsch!

Hirsch continues the attack after the bell, armbar, Statlander runs down to makes the save. Statlander charges into Hirsch with strikes in the corner. Hirsch escapes the ring.

Schiavone is with Jade Carghill. Jade says after her next win they need a big celebration, it will be better than Thunder Rosas. Jade tells Tony to cut the shit then leaves.

Commentary runs down next week’s card.

Tony Schiavone welcomes the new AEW Women’s World Champion to the stage. Before Rosa can say anything, Vickie Guerrero interrupts. Vickie says Rosa isn’t a Texan. Vickie says Rosa should go back to Mexico. Nyla Rose attacks Rosa from behind.

Commercial Break.

Dark Order make their entrance. Judas hits and the Jericho Appreciation Society make their way to the ring. Daddy Magic Matt Manard insults the crowd.

Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia vs. John Silver & Alex Reynolds

Silver and Jericho start the match, Jericho belittles Silver, Silver with right hands, shoulder tackle, back elbow, bodyslam. Silver with an armdrag, Reynolds tags in, double drop toe hold, double dropkick. Jericho escapes the ring. Silver chases after him, big kick to the chest. Silver and Reynolds hits a Tope Suicida/Brain Buster combination on the outside. Aubrey Edwards throws Dark Order out from ringside.

Jericho chokes Reynolds in the ropes, Jericho misses a Lionsault. Silver tags in, Silver with clotheslines, flapjack, Silver throws Garcia out of the ring. Silver catches Jericho with a kick, then runs wild on the JAS at ringside! Silver with a big crossbody to Jericho, cover, 2 count.

Jericho hits a Codebreaker, cover, 2 count. Garcia tags in, chops to Silver in the corner. Silver throws Jericho out of the ring, Reynolds tags in, rolling elbow, double team strikes to Garcia, cover, 2 count. Silver with an elbow to Hager, then to Manard and Parker. Hager catches a Tope and hits a powerslam on the outside. Reynolds hits a high knee, Jericho hits him with the baseball bat behind the refs back. Garcia locks in a Scorpion Death Lock and Reynolds taps out!
