Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship after beating The Miz on Monday Night RAW back in March last year. Since then, he was booked as a very dominant force and had Vince McMahon’s seal of approval. Lashley then lost that title to Big E in a huge moment that fans will always remember.
The Almighty and The Beast clashed at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship. In the end, Lashley won the match after Paul Heyman turned on Brock Lesnar.
Ringside News exclusively reported that Lashley was working hard to make it back by the Madison Square Garden event and WrestleMania. He didn’t make it back by MSG, but Mania isn’t out of the question.
He defended his WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber match at the WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event on February 19th. However, the company wrote a concussion protocol angle to take him out of the match. It turned out that Lashley was legitimately injured since the Royal Rumble event.
Lashley has been absent from the event as well. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Bobby Lashley is expected to be cleared for an in-ring return by the time WrestleMania 38 happens.
“Bobby Lashley was in Dallas at AT&T Stadium last week. The hope is he will be cleared in time for Wrestlemania but that’s not 100%.”
WWE also knew Bobby Lashley wasn’t fit to compete in the match for weeks but had him go to Saudi Arabia regardless. We’ll have to see if Lashley really will be able to make it in time for WrestleMania 38 or not.
