Jeff Hardy is truly one of the most respected professional wrestlers in WWE’s history. Hardy began from absolutely nothing and worked hard to establish himself as one of the most memorable performers in pro wrestling history. Jeff Hardy was also dancing during his AEW debut as it was Matt Hardy’s idea.
After three months of anticipation and hype, The Charismatic Enigma finally made his debut on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Jeff came out but was dancing for some reason before he saved his brother Matt from getting beat down.
While speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Jeff Hardy talked about dancing during his AEW debut. Jeff Hardy revealed that it was actually Matt Hardy’s idea. Matt Hardy himself then explained his reasoning behind Jeff’s dancing.
“The reaction was the best form of adrenaline from the fans. That ‘pop.’ I had to let out that nervous and excited energy with that yell [seen on Being The Elite]. I was so torn because, I’m saving my brother, right? One of my biggest heroes is out in the ring, Sting, and this new guy, Darby Allin, I just met him for the first time that day and I’m like, ‘this is really happening, I’m about to debut in AEW.’ The question for me was…Matt was saying, ‘take your time. Do the juke. You’re a star. Do it.’ ‘I can’t do that. I’m saving my brother.’ I tried to juke and run at the same time. I think it worked out pretty perfectly. It was overwhelming.” – Jeff
Doing the juke on the run was a compromise. I was like, ‘Sure, I know I’m getting beat down.’ I just wanted all the guys to stop. The music was going to be such a big moment, people were going to be shocked and out of their mind. I want [Jeff] to come out, do the juke, you’re a big star, do the thing, and get a full entrance. Even though they are beating me up, just let them stop. They stayed on top of me and were still whipping my ass and he went ahead and came to the ring. All the memes that had been out there are funny and entertaining. I love it. It wasn’t on him. If it was up to him, he would have ran straight in. This was on me. He’s a big star, dammit. He’s going to get a big star entrance.” – Matt
The Hardys also plan on going after the AEW World Tag Team Championships in the future, so we will have to see if that will happen or not.
