Shelton returned to WWE in 2017 after a seven-year absence from the company. He joined SmackDown upon his return to the WWE. He formed a two-man stable with Chad Gable that lasted just a year.
Shelton was drafted to RAW as part of the 2019 draft. He joined The Hurt Business alongside former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and Cedric Alexander (with MVP as their mouth piece) in 2020.
