Matt Sydal made his All Elite Wrestling debut at the company’s All Out pay-per-view event in 2020. Sydal emerged as a surprise entrant during the Casino Battle Royal match. It was later revealed that Sydal had signed with the promotion. Now he is on the shelf with an injury.
Sydal recently took to Twitter to share an important announcement with his fans. The AEW, who turned 39 Saturday (March 19), thanked his family, friends and fans for all the birthday wishes.
Sydal also revealed he’s been dealing with a knee injury that forced him to miss several weeks of AEW TV. Fortunately, his ACL or PCL is intact and he’ll be back as soon as he recovers from the injury.
Thanks for the birthday love. A brief update: I dislocated my knee a few weeks back which is why I haven’t been active in AEW. In good news, there were no tears in my acl or pcl. Gonna do some meditating then BRB better than ever.
Sydal last wrestled for AEW on their YouTube show, AEW Dark: Elevation. Sydal was involved in a 10-man tag match alongside Brock Anderson, Frankie Kazarian, Jay Lethal, and Lee Johnson.
The five men took on the team of Cezar Bononi, J.D. Drake, Luther, Serpentico, and Peter Avalon. AEW uploaded said episode on February 22. Watch the action unfold in the video down below.
