Shad Gaspard tragically lost his life in May of 2020 when he sacrificed himself to save his son. The two were swept away by a strong rip current while in the ocean at Venice Beach, California. JTG also believes Gaspard should receive The Warrior Award this year.

JTG used to team up with Shad Gaspard during their time as Cryme Tyme in WWE during the late 2000s. The two would eventually split up and go their separate ways in the company.

Cryme Tyme was a fairly popular team during their time in WWE. Despite competing in several title matches from 2006 to 2010, the team would never hold tag team gold even once.

While speaking with Muscle Man Malcolm, JTG stated that he believes Shad Gaspard should be honored with The Warrior Award for what he did.

“It would definitely have to be the Warrior Award. You know, Shad did a heroic act, you know, sacrificing his life for his son. But if it wasn’t his son, if it was somebody else out there, he would probably do the same act. If it was me, he would’ve probably done it for me. Shad has always had this hero mindset.”

WWE is also likely doing something for Shad Gaspard during this year’s Hall Of Fame ceremony. We will have to wait and see how WWE will acknowledge Shad Gaspard at the ceremony. Gaspard’s courage and selflessness will never be forgotten and that is what matters in the end.
