NXT 2.0 debuted back in September last year, in a move that a lot of fans were not happy with. This is because they wanted the black and gold version of NXT to stay due to all the memories associated with the brand. William Regal also believes NXT needed a change.
Several months on, fans are still getting adjusted to NXT 2.0 as it does have a lot of promise, but also needs a lot of improvement. Despite this, there are those who believe a change was necessary.
While speaking on the Talk is Jericho podcast, William Regal talked about the older version of NXT changing into NXT 2.0. Regal simply stated that he believes the chance was necessary.
“I was the first person, as far as I know, that Triple pulled in and said, ‘Right, what’s your vision for this?’
We did what we did and it was a great thing for a lot of people. A great success, and I have no ill will at all, I’m really happy. Because it needed some kind of change, because things have changed. This place (AEW) had come along and different things, so it needed (a change)… and so, that went on.”
WWE will also have more main roster Superstars appear on NXT 2.0 in order to build and develop it. We’ll have to see whether the overall product will improve in the future or not.
