Vince McMahon’s company has lost a few important members of the roster in recent memory. It appears that another one could be heading toward the exit.
WWE NXT star Candice LeRae’s contract is about to reach its conclusion. She just recently gave birth and it was unclear whether her contract was frozen.
The pattern that the company has previously used to deal with situations like this has included them giving the stars an extension on their time. That doesn’t seem to be the case for her.
Dave Meltzer has reported that her deal was set to expire in May 2022. According to a new report by Fightful Select, the NXT star is not getting her deal frozen or prolonged, even when it’s set to expire in the spring.
Candice LeRae’s WWE contract is set to expire “this Spring,” and thus far has not been renewed or frozen. When we spoke to WWE sources, they weren’t sure if a freeze was able to even happen considering that LeRae has been out on maternity leave. Those that we heard from in WWE did not expect her to be back by the time the deal expired, and said that an extension hadn’t been discussed either.
WWE did not expect Rae’s return before the expiration of her offer. There are no efforts from either party to engage in talks as LeRae takes her time to recover.
Johnny Gargano and LeRae had their first child back in February. Gargano left WWE after his contract reached its point of expiration. It is conventionally believed that he’s probably going to AEW in case he gets back to wrestling.
