Drew McIntyre is currently one of the top Superstars in WWE, and he has a ton of passion for the pro wrestling industry. McIntyre honed his craft in numerous companies after his first stint in WWE failed. Rey Mysterio also helped him out in a big way.
McIntyre was introduced as The Chosen One by Vince McMahon as many thought he was destined for greatness. McIntyre won the Intercontinental Title and even the WWE Tag Team Titles, but never truly reached the top level.
While speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Drew McIntyre revealed how Rey Mysterio helped him out when he was struggling in WWE. Mysterio personally told Vince McMahon he wanted to work with McIntyre.
“I wasn’t doing anything significant at the time, my career was on a bit of a downward spiral at the time. I really needed to get into a storyline or work with somebody that could get be back on the right path. Rey actually went to Vince himself and told him, ‘You’ve got something with this guy, I’d really love to do something with him.’ Never materialised, they had plans for him unfortunately, but he really went out of his way to try and push for me.”
Drew McIntyre will square off against Happy Corbin at WrestleMania 38, something which fans are not excited about whatsoever. On the other hand, Rey will team with Dominik Mysterio to take on The Miz and Logan Paul for a WrestleMania moment with his son.
We wonder what WWE will have planned for McIntyre after his feud with Corbin ends for good, by Mysterio will likely be around in case he needs to chat.
