Cody Rhodes is keeping mum about his much-anticipated in-ring return. It is unknown if Cody has signed a contract with WWE or he is navigating his options following his departure from Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling. Either way, certain preparations could be in place for his arrival.

Cody is fully believed to be in talks with WWE for a return ahead of WrestleMania 38. He was even listed on the company’s internal documents for WrestleMania, but then The American Nightmare was removed. Ringside News exclusively reported that the WWE creative team has not been informed about any change regarding his status.

According to Fightful Select, WWE producers have not been briefed about Cody’s current status. The outlet also reported that Cody didn’t even know that Damian Priest did not use his version of Cross Rhodes on TV last week.

“WWE agents/producers have not been briefed on a Cody Rhodes impending debut or signing, or told of any plans about it as of yet. Those close to Cody said that he didn’t even know that Damian Priest didn’t use The Reckoning/Cross Rhodes on TV last week until we inquired about it. One WWE producer says they don’t believe that could be an accident, though.”
