Cody Rhodes helped AEW significantly, both inside the squared circle and backstage as well. It is not a stretch to say he helped build AEW into what it is right now over the past three years. It seems WWE wants Cody Rhodes to return very soon as well.

Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi departed from AEW last month and even now, fans and pro wrestlers alike continue to discuss their departure and what they will do next.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE wants Cody Rhodes to compete at WrestleMania 38. For that to happen, Meltzer believes that WWE wants to have Rhodes return on the Jacksonville episode of Monday Night RAW before WrestleMania 38.

“So here’s the situation. Obviously WWE wants him for WrestleMania, time is running out I think we have 3 weeks until WrestleMania. So I know there’s Raw in Monday in Jacksonville, if he’s going to be at WrestleMania it would make sense to debut in Jacksonville if they have a deal which we don’t know about.

If he’s not there I would assume the deal is not closed, because that’s the date they wanted him for. So, as far as we know he had stuff set up for WM and it was off the boards a couple of days ago, talks are still going and I guess we’ll find out.”

WWE also initially planned for Cody Rhodes to compete against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38, but that is up in the air right now. The ball is currently in Cody Rhodes’ court as it depends on him what he will do in the end, so it remains to be seen whether Rhodes will make his way to WWE again or not.
