Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship after beating The Miz on Monday Night RAW back in March last year. Since then, he was booked as a very dominant force and had Vince McMahon’s seal of approval. Lashley then lost that title to Big E in a huge moment that fans will always remember.

The Almighty and The Beast clashed at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship. In the end, Lashley won the match after Paul Heyman turned on Brock Lesnar.

He defended his WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber match at the WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event on February 19th. However, the company wrote a concussion protocol angle to take him out of the match. It turned out that Lashley was legitimately injured since the Royal Rumble event.

While speaking on the Wrestling With Freddie podcast, MVP talked about Bobby Lashley finally winning the WWE Championship. MVP stated that he believes it because he managed Bobby Lashley that Vince McMahon decided to give Lashley a push.

“As Bobby Lashley continued to get better and hone his craft, I do beleive our synergy and our act continued to ferment, I guess. Till it got to that point where Vince McMahon reassessed him and his role and felt that ’Ok, now Lashley’s ready’. I’ll never forget it.”

Lashley underwent testing on his shoulder following WWE Elimination Chamber as well. WWE also knew Bobby Lashley wasn’t fit to compete in the match for weeks but had him go to Saudi Arabia regardless. We will have to wait and see whether Lashley will make it back in time for WrestleMania 38, as it seems unlikely at this point in time.
