Goldberg is considered a legend by many fans and he is also a WWE Hall of Famer. The former WWE Universal Champion might not have been a fan of pro wrestling at first but eventually came to appreciate it as an art form. It seems Goldberg’s trainer blamed Bret Hart for ending his own career.
WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart had bitter feelings about Goldberg for several years as Bret Hart suffered a concussion after Goldberg hit him with a botched kick during a match at Starrcade in 1999.
Due to this, Bret Hart suffered post-concussion syndrome, which effectively ended his in-ring career. Bret Hart went on record and said that Goldberg’s work rate was “0/10.”
While speaking on Monte & The Pharaoh, Goldberg’s former trainer DeWayne Bruce criticized Bret Hart for not doing enough to avoid Goldberg’s kick and laid the blame on Bret Hart.
“Even Bret Hart blamed me for him getting concussion syndrome from Bill Goldberg, getting kicked in the ring. I’m like, ‘You’re from the [Hart family] dungeon, man.’” You have a 289-pound monster getting the biggest push anybody ever got, even on top of Hulk Hogan, and you don’t know to get your hand up? S***, the fault lies entirely on you.”
We will never know how much pro wrestling would have been different had Bret Hart still been able to wrestle and not get injured at the hands of Goldberg. Regardless, Bret Hart had previously forgiven Goldberg for what he did as well and no longer has any ill feelings towards him.
