WrestleMania 38 is being promoted as the biggest WrestleMania of all time. The huge two-day event in Dallas has fans buzzing as reports of huge names appearing on the show have been coming left and right. One of the most noteworthy stories is that Steve Austin was booked for a match against Kevin Owens.

There will also be plenty of celebrities to try and draw a mainstream audience. Pat McAfee will take on Austin Theory. Johnny Knoxville will wrestle Sami Zayn. Logan Paul and The Miz are scheduled for a tag team match with the Mysterios. WWE is pulling out all the stops.

Steve Austin’s reported match with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania might not be a match at all. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Austin hasn’t yet agreed to the match. WWE now has the Austin and Owens segment booked as a “confrontation.”

“The big thing was they wanted Vince and they wanted Austin because they’ve got a lot of tickets to sell, and Pat McAfee vs Austin Theory is not going to be selling a lot of tickets. And Steve Austin and Kevin Owens is, you know, they will have a confrontation, but it is not clear if that will be a match or not anymore. It’s essentially up to Austin at this point.

They want the match, they thought they had the match, and, you know, Steve, there’s a reason he hasn’t wrestled for 19 years. I just know that as of Friday he had not agreed to do the match even though it was on the books. Now, it’s on the books as a confrontation.”

We will have to wait and see if Austin decides to do a match. Stone Cold hasn’t laced up the boots in nearly twenty years. Steve Austin might be appearing at WrestleMania 38, but it isn’t a sure thing he will wrestle. This will be a huge disappointment to a lot of the WWE Universe.
