MJF has been touted as one of the defining heels of the current generation of pro wrestlers and it is not difficult to understand why. MJF became a huge star in AEW in a short time and since then has consistently delivered in his feuds. It seems MJF shared his thoughts on what pro wrestling fans think about the product nowadays.

The Salt of the Earth buys his own hype in a huge way and for the most part, he backs up everything he says inside the squared circle. MJF is also a fan of the old school style of pro wrestling where character and in-ring psychology were the most important aspects instead of just performing moves.

While speaking to Wrestling with Freddie, MJF talked about him being compared to pro wrestling legend Roddy Piper. MJF stated that people nowadays care more about moves in the ring than emotions.

“I am someone like [Roddy] Piper, a gentleman you had mentioned earlier, that is able to make people feel something. That is a lost art in my industry. I don’t know where it went away. At some point, people started caring more about the moves than the emotions. I’m not that guy. I’m the guy that’s going to make people tune in and I’m going to grab them by the face.”

MJF has to contend with CM Punk in a Dog Collar match at AEW Revolution on March 6th. We will have to wait and see how the match will turn out to be.
