Vince McMahon is certainly one of the most controversial figures in the history of professional wrestling. The WWE Chairman tends to keep himself in a backstage role for the most part but takes a direct role on WWE television when needed. It seems he explained the reasoning behind calling his talents Superstars.
Vince McMahon has his own peculiarities which many people simply cannot comprehend and find very odd. Despite this, McMahon goes by the beat of his own drums and that is what matters to him.
While speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, the WWE Chairman explained why he refers to WWE talents as Superstars instead of professional wrestlers. It came down to it sounding better and also better from a mental health standpoint.
“If you have a character, it’s no different than acting. Our performers, there is a reason I call them superstars, they are not just wrestlers, it’s because anyone can wrestle, either poorly or well. Do you want to be a professional wrestler or do you want to be a WWE superstar? WWE superstar sounds a whole lot better to me than being a professional wrestler. The quality of human beings that we have and the enormous amount of talent we have, you have to have acting talent of reacting talent.
Vince McMahon and Pat McAfee are set for a Smoke and Mirrors match at WrestleMania 38. We will have to wait and see how the match will turn out to be in the end.
