Triple H has been recovering and relaxing after having a very serious health scare. The Game underwent heart surgery after a serious cardiac episode. Triple H’s in-ring career is likely over, but Paul Levesque has always been expected to return at some point.
Levesque has made a few public appearances. The King of Kings was present for a recent tour of the construction site of the new WWE headquarters. Triple H also turned up to tout WWE’s collegiate NIL recruiting program.
A recent firing from the WWE front office indicates that there may not be any plan for Triple H to return soon. The company recently released Lisette Pineda, who held the title of Manager of Global Talent Strategy and Development. Dave Meltzer spelled out what this could mean for Triple H in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“Lisette Pineda, who was Manger of Global Talent Strategy and Development, was let go. This is even more notable because Pineda was Paul Levesque’s top assistant. Her being gone has to do with Levesque still being gone and internally was considered a sign that Levesque may not be back any time soon”
Plenty of Triple H’s other hand-picked staffers were already let go. Many saw the move as a power grab as WWE continues to transition further from the old vision of NXT. It might be a while before he returns to work on a full-time basis.
There has been plenty of speculation about the role of Triple H in WWE going forward. The important thing is that he is taking care of his health. Time will tell if and when he returns to work.
