Chavo Guerrero Jr. joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in the summer of 2021. The 51-year-old served as the executive consultant to Andrade El Idolo. Their partnership dissolved after Andrade attacked Chavo during an episode of Rampage in September 2021.
The angle was done to write Chavo off TV so he could film Young Rock Season 2. Chavo recently wrapped up filming the show only to find out that he is no longer listed on AEW’s Roster page. Chavo said this was news to him and called out Tony Khan to explain his take on the matter.
“That’s news to me! I guess having @TonyKhan telling me to go film Young Rock Season 2, & my job will be waiting for me when I’m done, didn’t mean much,” he wrote in a since-deleted post on Twitter. Chavo also retweeted AEW Metrics’ post about him no longer listed on the official AEW roster page.
The development comes at a time when the contracts of a handful of AEW performers have either expired or are close to hit their expiration rate. It was previously revealed that Brian Cage, Joey Janela and others are on their way to leaving the promotion.
