Rohit Raju is a veteran of the independent circuit. Raju, real name Hakim Zane, worked on the independent scene for for years before he got a call from Impact Wrestling. He parted ways with the promotion last year.
The former Impact X Division Champion recently sat down with Fightful Select for an interview wherein he talked about his last deal with the Nashville-based wrestling promotion.
Raju revealed that he was contracted to Impact on a one-year deal that expired at the end of 2021. He tried to negotiate a better deal with the promotion, but the two sides couldn’t agree to the terms.
Raju said he’s open to resigning with Impact on the condition they offer him a better contract. He also mentioned that he has a good relationship with IMPACT Wrestling and Scott D’Amore, who has allowed him to use the Rohit Raju name.
The 41-year-old said Tony Khan was interested in him working several AEW Dark tapings. Raju was told about Khan’s plans by QT Marshall. He added that the talent at the venue treated him extremely well and that he’s slated to work more dates for the promotion in the future.
