The WWE locker room is full of talented Superstars who go out of their way to entertain fans. It also has veteran Superstars who have been working in the pro wrestling world for a long time and remain a highlight of the main roster shows. It seems R-Truth inspired Kofi Kingston in a huge way.
R-Truth is one such Superstar, who has seen a career resurgence over the past few years. He is currently on his second run with the company, having first joined WWE twenty years ago.
While speaking with Byron Saxton on WWE’s YouTube channel, Kofi Kingston reflected on his career in WWE. Kingston revealed that R-Truth inspired him to join WWE.
“I used to like K-Kwik (R Truth) back in the day and being, like, man, I think I can do some of those moves. Having him be a part of like the catalyst that drove me towards wanting to be a WWE Superstar.”
After his first WWE release, R-Truth had a short stint in TNA before signing with WWE again back in 2008. Since then he has had multiple title reigns, especially with the WWE 24/7 Championship as he has held the title over 50 times
