WWE SmackDown Results For February 25, 2022

Tonight’s SmackDown is set to feature a contract signing for the winner take all championship match at WrestleMania with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

It should be interesting to see how things play out on tonight’s show.

SmackDown begins with Michael Cole standing in the ring for an interview with Women’s Royal Rumble winner Ronda Rousey. Rousey says that after giving birth to her child she knew she wanted to go back and win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania again. Rousey says she wants to set an example for her daughter. Cole asks Rousey how it felt to finally win the Royal Rumble. Rousey says it did feel great but she doesn’t want to dwell too much on the past, and she is looking forward to making Charlotte Flair tap out at WrestleMania. Charlotte’s music hits and the SmackDown Women’s champion makes her way out to the ring. Charlotte says she showed Rousey mercy at Elimination Chamber, but she will not at WrestleMania, where she will make Rousey tap out to the figure eight.

Sonya Deville runs in the ring to attack Rousey from behind, and with Rousey distracted, Charlotte then grabs Rousey and slams her knee on the ring post. Deville taunts Rousey but Rousey manages to throw Deville out of the ring.

Los Lotharios vs Big E & Kofi Kingston

Our opening tag team match begins with Humberto and Kingston in a lock up. Kingston backs Humberto to the corner and tags in Big E who hits a big shoulder tackle. Big E locks in an abdominal stretch that Humberto breaks with a stomp to the foot. Big E overpowers Humberto and tags Kingston in. Kingston hits a leap frog leg drop and covers for two. Humberto hits a drop kick to knock Kingston to the outside. Los Lotharios throw Kingston to the ring apron on the outside.

*Commercial break*

The match continues live with Humberto going for a cover on Kingston for two. Humberto locks in a chin lock and takes a cheap shot on Big E on the apron. Angel tags in and locks in a single leg Boston crab. Kingston rolls free and takes Angel down with a stomp to the chest. Big E and Humberto are tagged in and Big E hits a belly to belly suplex. Big E hits a running splash and Humberto avoids the big ending and tags Angel in. Big E tags Kingston in, Angel throws Kingston outside the ring and hits a suicide dive onto Kingston on the outside. Kingston dives off the top rope but Angel hits a super kick. Angel goes up top but Big E causes the distraction to allow Big E and Kingston to hit the double team big ending and Big E covers for three.

Winners: Big E & Kofi Kingston

SmackDown returns with The Usos being interviewed backstage. The Usos reference The Viking Raiders, who they were scheduled to defend their titles against at Elimination Chamber. As Jimmy and Jey insult The Viking Raiders, Erik and Ivar run up to beat down The Usos and leave the champions on the ground.

Xia Li vs Natalya

The match begins with a lock up and Natalya immediately slams Li to the mat by her hair. Li hits a drop kick and covers for a two count. Natalya hits a discus lariat and gets a two count from the cover. Natalya hits a snap suplex and locks in an abdominal stretch. Li breaks the hold and hits an exploder suplex and covers for two. Natalya goes for the sharpshooter but Li breaks free and hitss a spinning heel kick and Li covers for three.

Winner: Xia Li

Back live with new Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn in the ring celebrating his championship victory. Zayn says finally justice has been served. Zayn calls himself a victim of a massive conspiracy that cost him his championship. Zayn says despite this, the conspiracy was real but he knows now that he can overcome anything they throw at him. Zayn says he is happy to defend his championship against anyone brave enough to step in the ring with him. Zayn’s celebration is interrupted by Johnny Knoxville who runs out to the ring. Knoxville says he’s there to crash Zayn’s celebration like Zayn crashed his movie premiere. Knoxville says the he wants to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship. Zayn goes to exit the ring but comes back to hit a cheap shot to Knoxville and Zayn hits Knoxville with a helluva kick.

Sasha Banks vs Shotzi

The match begins with Shotzi slapping Banks in the face. Banks hits a suplex and follows up with a second but Shotzi counters the third attempt by slamming Banks off the ropes. Banks hits a meteora and locks in the bank statement and Shotzi quickly taps out.

Winner: Sasha Banks

After the match, Naomi gets in the ring and tells the crowd that they are looking at the next women’s tag team champions.

Drew McIntyre vs Madcap Moss

Before the scheduled match with Corbin vs McIntyre can get underway, Corbin suggest that Madcap Moss wrestles against McIntyre instead of him. Moss enters the ring and Corbin takes a cheap shot before the bell. The bell rings and McIntyre hits the Glasgow kiss and goes for the Alabama slam that injured Moss at Elimination Chamber but Corbin pulls Moss out of the ring.

The match continues live with Moss having McIntyre in a chin lock. McIntyre hits a lariat and hits a belly to belly throw. McIntyre hits a neckbreaker and off a Corbin distraction Moss hits a thumb to the eye. Moss throws McIntyre to the corner and Moss gets a cover for two. McIntyre hits a Claymore out of nowhere and covers for three.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Universal Champion Roman Reigns makes his way out to the ring with The Usos and Paul Heyman with him as the contract signing is up next.

Back live with Reigns in the ring where the contract signing is set up with Adam Pearce and other WWE officials in ring. Heyman calls the WrestleMania match the biggest match in WrestleMania history, bigger than Hogan vs Andre, Stone Cold vs The Rock, or when he (Heyman) conquered Undertaker’s undefeated streak. Heyman says the security in he ring is to protect Brock Lesnar from his tribal chief.

Back live with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar coming out to the ring for the contract signing. Lesnar does his introduction while mocking Heyman’s signature style. Lesnar says the security guards in the ring would not stop him for one second and that the only thing stopping him is himself and the contract on the table. lesnar signs the contract and throws it at Reigns. Heyman tells Lesnar he is sick of the disrespect Lesnar shows him. Heyman tells Lesnar that he won’t make it to WrestleMania as champion and he will lose his title next Saturday in Madison Square Garden. Reigns signs the contract and he call the WWe championship his title, he says this is his show and everybody here works for him, including the security. The security guards turn to face Lesnar and before they can do anything, Brock Lesnar destroys them all and destroys the ring setup as SmackDown goes off the air.
