Brock Lesnar returned to WWE television last year during the SummerSlam pay-per-view, where he confronted Roman Reigns. Since then he had feuded with Roman Reigns for a long time. It seems Brock Lesnar went off-script at the WWE Elimination Chamber event for a good reason.
In the main event of the WWE Elimination Chamber event, Brock Lesnar destroyed all of his opponents in the WWE Title Elimination Chamber match and ended up winning the whole thing. Thus, Lesnar became the WWE Champion once again.
When two pods were left to open, Lashley’s pod was selected but he wasn’t in it as Lashley had to be escorted out of the match. Lesnar wasted no time in waiting and destroyed his pod to enter the match. Lesnar legitimately broke out of his pod as well.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar legitimately broke out of his pod during the match because he did not know Lashley’s pod was supposed to open before his.
“At the 9:20 mark of the match, the idea was that Lashley’s pod would be opened since it was his time, but he wasn’t there. Lesnar obviously knew Lashley was going to be taken out and not in the match. But he didn’t know they were going to signal for Lashley’s pod to open and it not be Lesnar’s, as he figured he was next. He also knew that they were running low on time and had a hard out when the show had to be over. Lesnar thought it was a mistake and that his pod was supposed to open, so physically broke out of it and then destroyed everyone.”
Brock Lesnar is set to square off against Roman Reigns in a winner take all match at WrestleMania 38. It remains to be seen who will end up becoming both the WWE and Universal Champion at WrestleMania 38.
