Many fans would agree with the fact that Damian Priest had a solid run in NXT. He also won the NXT North American Championship and competed in memorable matches during his time there. It seems Priest is grateful for his match against Finn Balor as well.

Priest was called up to the main roster during last year’s Royal Rumble match, where he had an excellent performance. After that, he partnered up with Bad Bunny for the past few months, which culminated in a tag team match at WrestleMania 37 with Bad Bunny.

While speaking on WWE‘s The Bump, Damian Priest talked about his match against Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: In Your House 2020. Priest stated that he believes that match changed his career direction in the company.

“So, a little history with Finn Balor and I. Yeah, we have that. Put it this way, after I faced him at In Your House, my course completely changed direction. I don’t think I’m sitting here with your today if it wasn’t for that match. That’s who Finn Balor is. He really brings out the best with everyone and I think Damian Priest is that much better because of him.”

Damian Priest recently set a new milestone as the United States Champion as well. Finn Balor also confronted him for a title shot on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. We will have to wait and see if they will duke it out once again or not.
