Cesaro exited WWE after a new deal could not be reached. Since his contract expired he is free to go wherever he likes as soon as possible. That being said, there doesn’t seem to be any communication with AEW.
Many fans are expecting Cesaro to land in Tony Khan’s company. That being said, Eddie Kingston also spoke out and expressed disbelief that he will ever arrive in the company. It’s not out of the question, because Cesaro still has time to figure things out.
It was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Cesaro leaving WWE likely did not have anything to do with AEW, because the two sides had no deal between them.
He also hadn’t gotten any backdoor AEW offer when he was negotiating so it wasn’t that he got a better offer elsewhere. That isn’t saying AEW may not make an offer now that he’s a free agent. Right now he’s he’s leaving the promotion unless something changes.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens in the future. Cesaro is 41-years-old, but that is not too old at all to start fresh in AEW. Only time will tell if Tony Khan’s company finds room on their crowded roster for the Swiss Cyborg.
