WWE Had Plans To Use Cesaro When His Contract Expired

Cesaro, a Superstar that many feel WWE underutilized, is no longer under contract. They could not come to terms on a new deal and he is free to go elsewhere. We will have to see what happens next, but WWE was planning to use the Swiss Cyborg.

When many thought that Cesaro signed a new full contract last year, he only inked a one-year extension. They could not come to terms on a new arrangement, so he is a free agent.

According to a report from Fightful WWE had plans to use Cesaro in upcoming shows. Obviously, that is not the case now as they could not come to terms on a new deal.

There were plans to use Cesaro on upcoming shows, but that is no longer the case. We were told that at the time of the departure, there had been no long term creative plans for Cesaro, and that unless a new deal was reached, that would remain the case. Cesaro had lost his last seven televised matches dating all the way back to November, and we’re told there was no indication he was going to re-sign, and therefore no incentive to push him accordingly.

Cesaro is extremely talented and one of the most well-loved members of the locker room. He will be missed, but this is likely not the last time we’ve seen him. He can actually show up anywhere he likes immediately since his WWE contract expired and he was never released.
