Damian Priest had a solid run in NXT and had a good fan following as well. He also won the NXT North American Championship and competed in memorable matches during his time there. It seems he has a dream match in mind for WrestleMania 38.
Priest was called up to the main roster during last year’s Royal Rumble match, where he had an excellent performance. After that, he partnered up with Bad Bunny for the past few months, which culminated in a tag team match at WrestleMania 37 with Bad Bunny.
He would eventually go on to win the United States Championship and has successfully defended it against several noteworthy opponents. In fact, Priest reached a new milestone in WWE as well.
While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Damian Priest revealed that he wants to square off against Edge at the Grandest Stage Of Them All.
“Live forever. That’s been like my mantra. I want my name to live forever and I am honestly more than willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. Beating Edge at WrestleMania seems right up there. I mean it when I say I want to face him. I have said said that for the longest time. Edge has mentored me and become a friend. But we know in this business, this is not a team sport. This is an individual business. So as much as I love Edge, respect him, I’d love to square off with him in the ring and prove what I can do.”
Finn Balor also confronted him for a title shot on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. We will have to wait and see whether Priest and Edge will duke it out at WrestleMania 38 or not.
