Austin Theory had a memorable run in NXT where he was part of Johnny Gargano’s stable, The Way. He would eventually make his way to the main roster and his fortunes increased from there. It seems Jim Cornette wants WWE to push Theory in a huge way.

Austin Theory has been engaged in a storyline with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon ever since Survivor Series concluded last year. It also featured him getting slapped by Vince McMahon. Many fans believe Theory is on the cusp of greatness as well.

At the WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, Austin Theory competed for the WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber match. He was the last one to be eliminated in the match after Brock Lesnar hit an F5 on Theory from the top of a pod and finished him off to become the WWE Champion.

While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette talked about Austin Theory’s current booking in WWE, especially him getting decimated by Brock Lesnar before WWE Elimination Chamber. Cornette called for Theory to meet booked like The Rock.

Cowboy Brock Ellis comes out, gets in the ring and immediately hangs his hat and jacket on Austin Theory in the corner like a hat rack. So now everybody knows that he’s flunky but then Austin Theory jumps on Brock’s back from behind while Brock is facing Lashley and Brock f**king just meres him over and german suplexes him twice while everybody else runs out of the ring and now they know Theory is flunky. But no, then he grabs Austin Theory and gives him an F5, now they know.

What the f**k? So now, obviously Brock and Lashley are in another multi-man match, being set up by more scripted promos and Austin Theory, who should be the project that WWE is working on, similar to how WWE started working on The Rock in 96, I believe.”

We will have to wait and see what the company has in store for Austin Theory as he did not necessarily have a great showing in the WWE Title Elimination Chamber match.
