There is no doubt that WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg is considered a legend by many fans. The former WWE Universal Champion might not have been a fan of pro wrestling at first but eventually came to appreciate it as an art form. It seems Ric Flair defended Goldberg recently as well.
After a hiatus since WWE Crown Jewel last year, Golberg made his return to WWE television and confronted Roman Reigns earlier this month on Friday Night Smackdown.
Goldberg challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia on February 19th. After an intense match where both competitors gave it their all, it was the Tribal Chief who stood tall after he made Goldberg pass out to his guillotine choke.
Goldberg has been featured in numerous high profile matches over the years and fans are simply tired of seeing him get a main event level spot. While speaking on his WOOOOO Nation Uncensored podcast, Ric Flair addressed Goldberg’s critics as he defended Goldberg competing in high profile matches.
”It’s kind of like I say, the guys that made a name for themselves that mean something 10 years after they have been removed and can come back and mean something. Those are guys that are special.
He drew money. Five star matches mean nothing if you are not drawing money. We have seen a lot of star matches that Don’t draw money.”
Goldberg is also a free agent after his loss to Roman Reigns at WWE Elimination Chamber. We will have to wait and see if fans have seen the last of Goldberg or not.
