Ronda Rousey debuted at the end of 2018’s Royal Rumble event and didn’t take long to become one of the mainstays of WWE’s women’s division. She eventually became the RAW Women’s Champion but dropped it to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35. It seems Rousey was emotional after her in-ring return as well.
Rousey wasn’t seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 and fans weren’t sure if they would ever see her again. It turned out, they did, as Rousey returned during the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year. She eliminated Charlotte Flair and won the match on top of that.
Ronda Rousey teamed up with Naomi and squared off against Sonya Deville and Charlotte Flair at the WWE Elimination Chamber event. Rousey also wore the gi she had worn during the 2008 Tokyo Olympics. Rousey submitted Sonya Deville for the win as well.
After the conclusion of the match, Ronda Rousey took to her Instagram and uploaded several photos from the event, as Rousey made it clear she was emotional about wearing her gi.
@trinity_fatu really stole the show tonight, and I got the best seat in the house to watch her work – thank you for having my back out there 🙏🏼
Gotta admit it felt good putting my old @mizunousa competition judo gi back on – and I totally felt like @realroyce striking in a gi 🤩
Thank you for having us Jeddah, it was an honor to perform for you all
Ronda Rousey recently chose her WrestleMania 38 opponent as she decided to go for Charlotte Flair as well. We will have to wait and see whether she will be able to beat Charlotte Flair for the title or not.
