AJ Styles has been considered as one of the best pro wrestlers by both fans and wrestlers alike and it is not hard to understand why. Styles continues to work at a high level despite growing older and continues to amaze fans. It seems Styles has a high opinion of Omos.
AJ Styles and Omos were a formidable tag team, as they even went on to win the RAW Tag TEam Titles from The New Day at WrestleMania 37. Styles’ partnership certainly helped Omos grow in numerous ways.
In the end, AJ Styles and Omos split up last year. Omos would also beat Styles in their singles match, effectively ending their feud. While speaking with BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani, AJ Styles stated that he believes Omos could be one of the greatest Superstars in the company’s history.
“I thought, ‘here is an opportunity for me to help this young monster develop and be someone unbelievable one day.’ It was exciting at first when we were tag champs, but then there was a lot of times where we were spinning our wheels based on what we were given and the parameters in which we could do it. It did make it difficult.
He could be one of the greatest superstars ever,” Styles claimed. “He could be just like Andre The Giant. He’s bigger than Andre, I think, I could be wrong, I never met Andre. He’s a massive human being. To have him stand in front of you, you have to see it to believe it. He’s not a goofy giant. He’s a very smart individual. I think he’s more than capable of doing it himself instead of having a mouthpiece, he doesn’t need that. Time will tell. Some people can handle it, some people can’t. You can only do so much for someone and then they have to take control of their own career.”
AJ Styles also previously revealed that he wants to work with younger talents after retiring from in-ring competition. We will have to wait and see whether Styles will continue to put over more young talents before that.
