Bron Breakker has been feuding with Dolph Ziggler recently on NXT 2.0. Ziggler has invaded from the main roster and insulted the NXT wrestlers and fans. Tommaso Ciampa stepped in and will wrestle Dolph on next week’s episode. That match is merely a setup for the main course.
Ciampa has taken Breakker under his wing since being defeated by the rising young superstar at New Year’s Evil for the NXT Championship. Ziggler will have to get through Ciampa’s roadblock if he wants a piece of Breakker and a shot at the NXT Championship. That match looks like it will go down on WrestleMania weekend.
NXT is scheduled for a huge event on Saturday before the first night of WrestleMania 38. The main event of that card is likely going to be Bron Breakker vs Dolph Ziggler. Dave Meltzer asked Bryan Alvarez about the match on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.
“So, they’re going to do Bron Breakker and Dolph Ziggler at the WrestleMania show. So, Ciampa’s going to be the set-up guy?”
Alvarez replied, “Looks like that’s what they’re going to do.” It sounds like they are confident that Dolph Ziggler will be taking on Bron Breakker on WrestleMania weekend. It will be Breakker’s most high-profile match since winning the title.
The WrestleMania show could be a coming out party for the struggling NXT 2.0 brand. Previous NXT shows preceeding major WWE premium live events have been very well-received. This will be the first time an audience outside of Orlando will get a chance to react to NXT 2.0. It should be very interesting to see what happens.
