Cody Rhodes said to be heading back to WWE, the company he parted ways from in 2016. The American Nightmare went straight to the indies where he held several titles before founding AEW and taking the role of Vice President as well as an on-screen talent.
Rhodes recently left AEW alongside his wife and former AEW Chief Brand Officer, Brandi Rhodes. AEW CEO Tony Khan confirmed that Cody Rhodes is no longer with AEW.
WWE is said to be the new home for the former star, and he’s even reported to start filming for the promotion as soon as this week. New report from Fightful Select says that Rhodes left AEW due to having a significant fall in power and creative control.
Fightful Select reports that while the star also wanted a bigger raise, neither the AEW officials nor Cody Rhodes himself have opened up about why they left the promotion.
Regarding the WWE locker room, the prevailing belief is that Cody Rhodes fell out of power in AEW and wanted a significant raise, but it’s important to note that neither AEW officials or the Rhodes’ have mentioned that yet..
Cody Rhodes is reportedly heading to WWE, which was once his home as well. While his brother Dustin Rhodes is staying back and likes to work with AEW very much, we’re yet to see what the American Nightmare himself will revealed to be his plan.
