The drastic change in character for Roman Reigns over the years has been well documented. He went from being an utterly dull babyface to one of the most compelling heels in WWE. He also isn’t a stranger when it comes to accolades in the company.
Roman Reigns was an eyesore for many when he was a babyface and fans and pro wrestlers alike agreed with this notion. This is in spite of the fact that Reigns competed in high profile matches against the very best.
Roman Reigns has been dominant as the WWE Universal Champion, having held the title for well over 500 days and even broke Brock Lesnar’s record. It seems Reigns is set to achieve a unique milestone in his championship reign that might never be replicated.
Defending the championship against Goldberg would mean that The Tribal Chief has competed against every single former Universal Champion since the title was created in 2016 in one single reign.
Reigns defeated both Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt at Payback in 2020 to win the title. He then successfully defend the title against Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins during his reign so far.
We will have to wait and see how his match against Roman Reigns will go down on February 19th in Saudi Arabia at the WWE Elimination Chamber event.
