Ember Moon Returns To In-Ring Action After WWE Release

Ember Moon (now known as Athena) made her long-awaited return to the squared circle at last night’s Warrior Wrestling 19 event. It was her first in-ring action since being released by WWE in November of 2021. Athena had a big-name opponent waiting for her upon her arrival. AEW star Thunder Rosa welcomed her back to wrestling with a classic championship match.

Thunder Rosa is the reigning Warrior Wrestling Women’s Champion. Athena wasted no time going straight for the top in her return. The two wrestled for quite a while in front of the appreciative crowd.

Athena and Thunder Rosa battled to a 30-minute time limit draw. After the matchup, both women thanked the crowd in attendance. Athena said she was flooded with nerves and excitement leading up to the match, which aired on Fite.

After the bout, Athena retweeted several GIFs and videos. She looks like she hasn’t lost a step. The former WWE superstar is happy to be wrestling without any restrictions.

Athena is bound to wind up in a national promotion sooner than later. AEW is, of course, the most heavily rumored landing spot. We’ll see where she ends up. The former Ember Moon is just thrilled to be able to once again wrestle her way.
