Ever since dropping the Shorty G gimmick, Chad Gable has been determined to compete at the highest level of technical matches as he can. Gable has been involved in his Alpha Academy tag team with Otis and even went on to become the RAW Tag Team Champions. It seems he opened up about his frustrations with his WWE booking as well.
Chad Gable had a great run in NXT as part of American Alpha with Jason Jordan, but his main roster run, in the beginning, was simply subpar, to say the least. Gable’s only Mania appearance took place in 2017 when he competed in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
While speaking on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast. Chad Gable talked about being frustrated at never having a proper WrestleMania match as part of the main show despite being in WWE for quite a while now.
“As it is with any superstar in WWE, your goal is to have that moment at WrestleMania, to get your match, and I’ve never come close to that. Not only have I not come close, there’s been years where I haven’t even been on, and that was last year and that was the year before.
I still treat it like I would a big amateur wrestling tournament, like WrestleMania is our big one. I’ll get myself ready. I’ll get in better shape. I’ll mentally prepare better because it’s our big event.”
Chad Gable has easily been in the best run in his career since his NXT days. It remains to be seen whether he will finally get a proper WrestleMania match on the main card this year or not.
