Kyle O’Reilly recently reunited with his former Undisputed Era brothers from NXT when he made a surprise debut at AEW. O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, and Adam Cole were immediately placed into a dissention storyline within The Elite. Suddenly, the story stopped playing out on television.

AEW fans have wondered why Fish and O’Reilly’s segments with Matt and Nick Jackson stopped. There’s no conspiracy behind it and everyone involved is doing just fine. O’Reilly has actually been gone for a very happy reason.

Kyle’s wife recently gave birth. O’Reilly was given some time off by Tony Khan to attend to his fatherly duties. Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the angle will continue when he returns.

“The reason Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly haven’t been out with Adam Cole and the Young Bucks thing has stopped is because O’Reilly was given time off since his wife just had a baby. It is expected to resume when he returns.”

A lot has changed since O’Reilly and Fish were last featured in an Elite segment on AEW. Jay White made his shocking debut on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. Now that the Bullet Club is involved, the tension has become much more complex.

Kyle O’Reilly will be back in AEW soon enough. For now, he is enjoying the joys of parenthood. When he does come back, things are primed to explode within The Elite.
