Matt Hardy is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world, having worked in various promotions in his career. He is currently under his Big Money Matt persona in AEW and remains a highlight. It seems he has an interesting comparison to Darby Allin.
Darby Allin is also one of the top stars in AEW and has cemented himself as one of the Four Pillars in the company. His tag team with Sting remains one of the highlights of AEW television as well.
While speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy talked about Darby Allin being compared to his brother Jeff. Hardy could see where the comparisons are coming from and then explained why Allin reminds him of Jeff.
“I very much do. Because when it comes to Darby Allin, he doesn’t just remind me of Jeff in the ring, as far as being fearless and a guy who takes all these insane bumps, and he seems to continue to get up and keep going. He’s almost Teflon. You can’t break this guy, you can’t put an end to this guy, he doesn’t get hurt.
On top of that factor, he also reminds me of Jeff outside the ring because he just really marches to the beat of his own drum. I think if you like Darby, he’s cool with that, if you don’t like Darby, he’s cool with that. He really just doesn’t give a s–t. He’s a very carefree guy and he pretty much lives in his own world and he’s not bothered by outside influences, and that reminds me so much of my brother.”
We will have to wait and see whether Jeff Hardy will make his way to AEW and join his brother or not. Jim Cornette recently said that it would be ridiculous for AEW to sign Jeff Hardy so we wonder if Hardy will debut in AEW somewhere down the line or not.
