Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship after beating The Miz on Monday Night RAW back in March last year. Since then, he was booked as a very dominant force and had Vince McMahon’s seal of approval. Lashley then lost that title to Big E in a huge moment that fans will always remember.
The Almighty and The Beast clashed at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship. In the end, Lashley won the match after Paul Heyman turned on Brock Lesnar.
On the other hand, Roman Reigns has been dominant as the WWE Universal Champion, with a reign that has surpassed more than 500 days and shows no signs of ending anytime soon.
While speaking with Graham Matthews of Wrestle Rant for Bleacher Report, Bobby Lashley was asked whether he felt the WWE Championship was not on the same level as the Universal championship. Lashley stated that he believes both titles are on the same level.
“I think it is [on the same level as the Universal Championship]. What company do we work for? WWE. I have the WWE Championship. To me, I don’t see anything bigger than that. I understand [Brock] wanting to go against Roman, I’m not taking anything away from Roman because I think Roman is at the top of his game. I think he’s really transcending anything he can do. I give credit where credit is due.”
Bobby Lashley is set to defend his WWE Championship at the Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia on February 19th. We will have to wait and see whether he will end up winning the match or not.
