CM Punk made his All Elite Wrestling debut a few months ago at AEW Rampage: The First Dance. His influence in the company has already been shown in the past few months already. It seems he helped Hook out in a huge way.
CM Punk has become one of the mainstays of AEW television and has feuded against the likes of Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston and others. Fans have also been wondering if he will ever duke it out against AEW’s latest sensation Hook.
One of his earlier feuds in AEW was with Team Taz, where CM Punk inadvertently made Hook a viral sensation after he told them to send Hook. While speaking with Mashable, Hook explained how CM Punk helped him become an internet sensation.
“I didn’t know that Punk was going to call me out, I was taken by surprise. It was crazy. It was wild. The external pressure was outrageous. I felt if I can make the most out of each opportunity that I had out there, that I could turn it into something that wasn’t just a joke. It’s weird being the subject of something like that because this is serious to me. This is my career. But at the same time, that internet is what is such a driving force in today’s world.”
CM Punk also doesn’t want to go to jail for hurting Hook. It remains to be seen how Hook will continue to be booked in the coming months, as he has yet to face a formidable opponent in AEW.
