Mo from the legendary tag team Men on a Mission, was recently reported as to have been brought to hospital – specifically the ICU – for “complications” due to Covid-19. Reports now show that he is out of hospital and is apparently on the road to recovery.
Mo (Robert Lawrence Horne) started his wrestling journey back in 1991. He made his way through many promotions on his rise including: the Pro Wrestling Federation, the United States Wrestling Association (both in the early nineties), and finally to the then-WWF by 1993. He would stay with the company in that first and only run of his until 1996.
It had been in the previously mentioned territories (before his time in WWF), where he and tag team partner, Mabel (also known throughout his career as Viscera), were known as The Harlem Knights. In WWE, they were rebranded as the highly popular Men on a Mission.
In 1995 he and Mabel would go their separate ways and Mo would join the ranks over at WCW. Mabel stayed with the company (WWE) for many years, and sadly passed away in 2014 due to a heart attack. That run would be short-lived, and he would return to the independent circuit in 1996 and the USWA as well.
At one point he did retire from the sport of pro wrestling, but he would make his return to the industry in 2014 and he has made sporadic appearances since. His health issues have unfortunately been a topic of discussion in recent years.
According to a report at Wrestling News, he was released from the ICU but is still in need of an oxygen tank. Problems with his kidney had been previously reported, but the story now is that he is also no longer on dialysis.
Despite the issues, doctors have stated that he is doing very well and even with the previous Covid-19 diagnosis and the issues with his kidney, his close ones state that he is essentially out of the woods, which is great news. From everyone here at Ringside News, we wish him a quick and complete recuperation.
