WWE will hold its earnings call for the fourth quarter of 2021 after the markets close this afternoon. It has been a strange year in Stamford, as staffing cuts in the name of budget-slashing have become the new normal. The company has been aggressively cutting costs while bringing in massive revenues.

The bottom line for WWE in 2021 sounds like it will be more than $1 billion in gross revenues. WWE will likely report profits approaching those made by UFC. It has been a hugely successful year for a company that has been ostensibly operating on a leaner budget.

Dave Meltzer previewed the earnings call on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. WWE brought in an enormous amount of revenue and profit in 2021. The numbers are once again record-breaking.

“They’re doing the annual earnings call. So, it’ll be the first year that WWE grosses over $1 billion. It will be their record profits. Probably over $150 million in profits this year. Not quite UFC level, but enough to where they really didn’t need to cut people, because it’s the most profitable the company’s ever been, by far.

Nick Khan will probably make some announcements. Don’t know what they are. Certainly, they will talk about numbers for the Royal Rumble. The exaggerated attendance number, I’m sure, will be talked about. I don’t know what else they could talk about. I guess they can talk about WrestleMania coming up and ticket sales for WrestleMania and how much money they’re going to make from Saudi. But, they’re not allowed to say it, they sort of hint it. And, whatever else. New movies, new TV shows they might be doing. So, tomorrow will be a big day of WWE business news.”

Nick Khan’s announcements are the only major unknown. It is widely believed that WWE will announce their first ever billion-dollar year. Stay tuned to Ringside News for further coverage of the WWE 4Q 2021 earnings call.
