Seth Rollins’ time in promotions such as Ring Of Honor certainly helped him hone his craft before making his way to WWE. Rollins’ current obnoxious heel character never fails to annoy fans. On top of that, Rollins really doesn’t do scripted promos as such, just like Roman Reigns.

Seth Rollins squared off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship to kick off the Royal Rumble event. Seth Rollins played mind games with Reigns as he brought back the Shield gimmick for the match.

In what was truly the match of the night for many, both competitors put on a clinic and told their story inside the squared circle. Throughout the match, Seth Rollins received a lot of cheers while Roman Reigns only got booed.

While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T stated that he thinks Seth Rollins became a true babyface after his match against Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble event.

“Did you see the crowd? If it would have been back in the day it would have been stuff getting thrown in the ring, it was like that. That’s what I am talking about as far as making the fans feel a certain way. Because Roman, his intensity, his intent, it makes it as real as it possibly can to the fan that is watching it. They actually get caught up in the moment. Seth Rollins became the biggest babyface in the arena after that right there. The person that can carry that is Seth Rollins as well.”

In the end, Roman Reigns lost the match via disqualification, a move that infuriated fans online. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Seth Rollins as it seems his feud with Reigns might be over just yet.
