Randy Orton’s contributions to WWE cannot be understated as he has been one of the mainstays of the company for almost twenty years now. Orton went on to solidify himself as one of the greatest Superstars in the company’s history. It seems there might be something up with him.
Randy Orton competed in the Royal Rumble match last week and it took place in his hometown as well. However, Orton did not compete in the match for long before getting eliminated, which disappointed fans.
To add to that, Randy Orton was also absent on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up Randy Orton’s shockingly short Royal Rumble run and subsequent absence on Monday Night RAW. Meltzer felt that it was very weird booking for Randy Orton.
I thought it was really weird that Orton wasn’t on TV. And also he was only in the Rumble in a couple of minutes too. I questioned why would Orton, who’d get the biggest pop in the show(apart from the surprise pop for Ronda) why would he not compete for long. In a match that didn’t have a lot of heat, the crowd would’ve gone crazy for anything Randy Orton would’ve done, but he arrived late and was out quick.
I thought that was really weird booking. Orton not being on the show, they did the whole thing last week with Orton not wanting to be in the scooter race. They kept promoting Otis in the scooter race but all of a sudden it was dropped.
We will have to wait and see whether something really is wrong with Randy Orton or not as his absence from WWE television certainly raised a lot of eyebrows.
