Former WWE Superstar Chris Masters had a decent time in WWE, where he would win championship gold. He was released by WWE in 2007 before returning for a second run in 2009. He’s still very active and it seems he opened up about working with John Cena as well.
Masters changed his ring name to Adonis and has been competing on the independent circuit. He also became the NWA National Heavyweight Champion in the process.
Masters worked in WWE between 2003 and 2007 before returning for another run from 2009 to 2011. He squared off against top talents during his time in the company, including John Cena and Shawn Micahaels.
While speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling, Chris Masters revealed that John Cena voiced his displeasure while working with him while Michaels had no issues.
“Cena had voiced displeasure in my work, and it was difficult because I was working with Shawn Michaels and Cena, and Shawn had even stuck up for me a few times. Michaels said didn’t have any problem working with me, and he said it out loud, which I really appreciated.”
Cena had also previously turned down an angle with Masters, which he presumed was due to his inexperience back then. Masters had hinted at appearing during the Royal Rumble but he never arrived. We will have to wait and see if Masters will ever return to WWE or not.
