Matt Hardy is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world, having worked in various promotions in his career. He is currently under his Big Money Matt persona in AEW and remains a highlight. It seems he opened up about his time in WWE as well recently.
Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy together formed The Hardy Boyz and are still regarded as one of the best tag teams in pro wrestling history. They are undoubtedly one of the most decorated tag teams in the business as they have won tag team gold in several companies.
While speaking with the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Matt Hardy talked about The Hardy Boyz being split up for the first time. Matt Hardy stated that he believes Vince McMahon always chose his brother Jeff over him in WWE.
“We were at the point where the Hardy’s became super popular and we did so well. In the year 2000, we sold the most merchandise of any tag team in the history of WWE.
Which is amazing and it is so cool that we were able to achieve that level of success. But as time went on, and obviously Jeff was like the standout guy. And Vince always chose Jeff over Matt in The Hardy Boyz, when it came to Edge and Christian, he always chose Edge over Christian. That’s something myself and Christian always have in common, we were a little underrated. We never got all the credit we deserved sometimes, in his eye.”
Matt and Jeff Hardy are set to appear for Big Time Wrestling on March 12, 2022. We will have to wait and see how their first reunion in three years will turn out.
