Ronda Rousey debuted in WWE at the end of the 2018 edition of the Royal Rumble after transitioning from the UFC. She would go on to win the WWE RAW Women’s Championship and held it for half a year.
As reported earlier, WWE was pushing for Ronda Rousey to make her return during this year’s Royal Rumble event. On top of that, Ronda Rousey was likely going to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match as well.
That is exactly what happened as Ronda Rousey made her shocking return during the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year and won the match as well after eliminating Charlotte Flair.
While speaking in a backstage interview following her massive victory, Ronda Rousey made it clear she wanted to make a statement with her Royal Rumble win.
“Yeah, it is. I mean, it’s the statement I wanted to make. I don’t know, that wasn’t a question at all, that was a statement.
I’m going to go back to my bus and love on my little baby and that’s really the only thing I care about right now, my priorities have changed.”
As reported earlier, the company also has huge WrestleMania 38 plans for Ronda Rousey, which could see her finally square off against Becky Lynch or Charlotte Flair in a singles match. It remains to be seen how Rousey will be booked now that she is back.
