Brock Lesnar was absent from WWE television after dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. That changed at WWE SummerSlam last year, where he made his shocking return to WWE television and confronted Roman Reigns. Brock officially came back as a babyface, much to the delight of fans.
Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley in a highly-anticipated match. It ended in a controversial manner as Paul Heyman betrayed Lesnar and had Roman Reigns hit him with the WWE Championship.
Due to the interference, Bobby Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar and thus became the new champion. Later on in the night Lesnar came out at #30 in the Men’s Royal Rumble match and ended up winning the match as well.
Lesnar set a record with his win as he spent a total of two minutes and 30 seconds in, making it the least amount of time spent in the match by a winner. The record was previously held by Edge, who returned during the 2010 Royal Rumble match and won that year.
We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar’s feud as it is very likely the two will duke it out at WrestleMania 38.
